The first thing I would do is order your bio mother's death certificate and/or look for it on Ancestry to see what the cause of death was. I am unaware of any right to get somebody else's medical records so I can't help you with that. You could take the 23 and me DNA test -- it's 199.00. It can tell you some medical information, but it is not used for purposes of diagnosing. If I were you, I would start speaking to your mother's close friends and/or relatives you have not asked as of yet. I hope you get the needed information.Lynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15575558244573598420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8950217803502790967.post-4935277228040702482017-01-28T09:13:33.174-08:002017-01-28T09:13:33.174-08:00I read in an article that you were able to get you...I read in an article that you were able to get your biological parents medical records.
I'm in a position where I need my bio mother's records. She's passed aways several years ago.
I've been going through some neurological health problems with symptoms that, according to my half brother, mirror what my bio mother had for years.
Unfortunately, my family is big on secrets and she never told anyone what she may have been diagnosed with before she died. I only have the symptoms I observed. Her health records would be helpful.
The biggest complications I forsee is that she had been in the military and was using the VA for medical.
Do you have any advice or source I can go to for information? I don't have health coverage that will pay for the tests/specialist visits necessary to diagnose me. So, knowing what my bio mom had could at least point us in the right direction for testing.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
